The Tension Shirt is an original construction that explores the relationship between structure, adjustment and movement within a contemporary shirt silhouette.
Cut from a classic button-down form, the garment is transformed through a series of adjustable side gathers that reshape the lower volume of the shirt. The integrated fabric ties allow the wearer to alter the tension and proportion of the silhouette, creating a subtle dialogue between tailoring and controlled irregularity.
The result is a piece that can shift between a more structured and elongated appearance and a gathered, sculptural form. Its design treats the shirt not simply as a functional garment, but as a changing structure shaped by the person who wears it.
Developed entirely within our studio as part of our Original Constructions, the piece is created from new materials through limited-series production. Each garment is developed in response to a confirmed order, allowing us to avoid unnecessary production while giving attention to the construction, proportions and requirements of each piece.
