Why hybrid?

A Methodology, Not a Technique
HUS is frequently associated with upcycling. While upcycling forms an essential part of the methodology, it does not define it completely. The Hybrid Upcycling System is not a production formula.
It is a research methodology.
Each project combines observation, experimentation, material analysis, pattern development and craftsmanship in order to generate new cultural value through design.
Rather than repeating predefined solutions, HUS encourages every collection to develop its own questions, methods and outcomes.
For this reason, no two projects are produced in exactly the same way.
The methodology evolves continuously together with the research itself.

A Living Methodology
Hybrid Upcycling System (HUS)
The Hybrid Upcycling System (HUS) is the research-based design methodology developed by Isabel is my name. It integrates material investigation, craftsmanship and interdisciplinary creative practice to transform both existing and new textiles into contemporary fashion collections, runway research projects and experimental garments. Rather than treating sustainability as its primary objective, HUS understands responsible design as the natural outcome of continuous research, cultural awareness and material intelligence.
